Meet Anetta

I am a contemporary artist and fashion influencer based in Santa Cruz, California. Born in Crimea to parents of Azerbaijani and Greek descent, I was raised in Russia and lived in Budapest, Hungary for 6 years. I proudly carry my complex cultural tapestry that deeply informs everything I do.

Through my style and my visual art I explore themes of identity, freedom, and feminine power. My work is both personal and political, aiming to awaken, resonate, and offer space for reflection in an increasingly complicated world.

I strive to incorporate sustainable materials into my artwork, allowing each piece to reveal itself organically throughout the creative process.

The theme of balance is prevalent in my art, as I try to achieve equilibrium through a harmonious interplay of colour, texture, shape, proportion, composition, dimension and perspective.

Syzygy and dichotomy reveal itself in my works through symbiosis of symmetry and asymmetry, light and dark, movement and stillness, harmony and discord.

My art is a vibrant exploration of colour and emotion, utilising a diverse range of traditional media such as watercolour, gouache, pencils, acrylics, and oil pastels, alongside innovative materials like pencil shavings, driftwood, found objects, seeds, leaves, as well as epoxy, cement and glass.

Through these varied mediums, my work engages deeply with themes of feminism, love, self-expression, social justice, ecological sustainability and the global climate crisis. Each piece is a personal narrative, crafted to resonate on a profound level with viewers, evoking introspection and personal revelation.

Through my presence, online and offline, I aim to inspire a more profound shift in collective consciousness, grounded in the belief that art has the power to touch the unconscious and subconscious, invoking positive emotions, thoughts, and ultimately, change.

I embrace an element of unpredictability and spontaneity. Unplanned and unforeseen becomes a conduit for divine inspiration and greater forces to steer the process, shape the creation and guide the outcome with love.
